Lacustre
Blown glass beads mounted on a brass frame.
“I dreamed of a large necklace, crystallizing the hues of a sunset over Lake Geneva, suspended with a kind of nonchalance.”— Claire Duchamp
Lacustre is a light fixture conceived and designed by Claire Duchamp, inspired by sunsets over Lake Geneva.
Its colors are derived from an in-depth study of the hues of the sky and the lake at dusk, based on photographs of the landscape.
Individually crafted from blown glass, its spheres translate these nuances into plays of color, transparency, and light.
Like a suspended luminous necklace, Lacustre brings a fragment of the landscape into the interior space.
Through Lacustre, Claire Duchamp, an architect and interior designer in French-speaking Switzerland, extends her exploration of light, color, and landscape to the scale of the object.
